Evaluation Findings

After finishing our lo-fi prototype, the group moved on to testing its usability. We conducted four evaluation tests with participants within our user group. The purpose of these tests was to collect data and feedback on the usability of the apps different features and tasks flows. The evaluation tests were conducted through Zoom with the aim to have participants navigate our Figma prototype with as little guidance as possible. The three tasks we asked our participants to complete were:

  1. Sending a compliment.

  2. Unfollowing a classmate

  3. Making a journal entry

During the tests, we asked both pre and post interview questions as well as observed the users going through each task. Our most notable findings from each task were:

  1. Users want easier access to features such as others' profiles and follow/unfollow buttons.

  2. Only having follow/unfollow features on the class list feels too impersonal.

  3. Some of the icons lacked clarity.

After analyzing the results, the group came up with the following suggestions for each finding respectively:

  1. Provide more and better pathways to features.

  2. Add more community-building or personal features to class tab.

  3. Implementing more descriptive icons.
